Dancing the Wild Home Tonga 2026 Retreats

Dancing the Wild Home Retreats are an invitation to return to our wild nature, to rejoin the rhythms of breath, body, ocean, and life. Immersed in the blues and greens of Tonga, we are witnessed by, and witness, the Humpback Whales—the Ocean’s great Wisdom Keepers—as they gather in their birthing waters. Each day, we enter sacred ground. If you’d like to be one of the eight participants to join Amber Gray in Tonga for her Dancing the Wild Home Retreat, choose your dates and register here!

Registration for single rooms close on May 1, 2026. Registration for the retreats close June 1, 2026.

Please note Tonga Week 1 has two spaces available!

We stay at a remote, rustic, eco-retreat on the island of Uoleva in the South Pacific jungle. Accommodations are intentionally simple and locally built—solar-powered, open-air, and immersed in nature. With limited connectivity and basic comforts like warm solar showers, this is a chance to unplug, slow down, and live close to the land and sea.

Dancing the Wild Home: Rewilding Our Grief

August 12-20, 2026 (two spaces available)

Set on the remote island of Uoleva in Haʻapai, Tonga, Dreaming the Wild Home: Rewilding Our Grief is an eight-day eco-somatic retreat exploring grief as a sacred, life-affirming force mirrored by the Ocean and her wisdom keepers, the whales. Through whale encounters, mindful movement, dance, breath, ritual, writing, and time immersed in the elemental rhythms of island life, participants are invited to tend personal and planetary loss while reconnecting to resilience, creativity, and ancestral belonging. Rooted in simplicity, community, and ecological reciprocity, this retreat offers space to rest, witness, and transform grief into inspired care for self, others, and the living world.

Dancing the Wild Home: Dreaming our Origin Stories

 Aug 25 – Sept 3, 2026

Dancing the Wild Home is a nine-day immersive retreat calling participants back into embodied relationship with the Ocean, the island, and their own wild nature. We prepare on land through restorative movement before entering the sea to swim alongside humpback whales and other ocean beings, guided by practices of dance, breath, sound, and reflection. Held in a protected whale breeding sanctuary on Uoleva, this retreat weaves embodied practice, ecological connection, and communal presence, inviting participants to experience flow, reciprocity, and renewal while supporting a local Tongan community and deepening commitment to planetary stewardship.
