Conscious Moving: An Experiential Introduction to The Moving Cycle

Saturday March 15th, 2025 – 930 AM – 5 PM – University of Auckland, New Zealand

This one-day introductory class is an opportunity to experience the foundational aspects of Dr. Christine Caldwell’s Moving Cycle. The Moving Cycle is a framework that applies to all phases of  the clinical process in Dance/Movement Therapy. Integrating elements of Polyvagal-informed Dance/Movement Therapy, we weave theory with individual and partner experiential practices and processes that illuminate the four phases (Awareness, Owning, Appreciation and Action) of The Moving Cycle.

Each phase is explored experientially for self-awareness and as an introduction to how this work applies to therapy.

Dress comfortably for movement, bring a notebook for journaling and to take notes, a writing utensil and some snacks and drinks for nourishment and hydration. We will take a lunch break at 12:30.
