Body as Voice

A foundational training in trauma-informed practice through movement and relationship.
From safety and stabilization to processing and collective integration.

Body as Voice is Amber Gray’s core training in Restorative Movement Psychotherapy, integrating Polyvagal-informed Dance/Movement Therapy.
Through a three-part progression, practitioners learn to support safety, process trauma through the body, and restore connection within individual and collective contexts.

When Words Aren't Enough

Trauma is not only held in story—it lives in the body, in breath, rhythm, and movement.

This work offers a way to listen beyond words, using movement as a pathway to regulation, connection, and repair.

Grounded in Polyvagal-informed Dance/Movement Therapy, practitioners learn to work with the nervous system directly—supporting safety, co-regulation, and the restoration of embodied agency.
"The most potent skill for a therapist is the ability to step willingly into the full humanity of our personhood."
— Dr. Amber Gray

The Body as
Voice Training

A three-part progression into trauma-informed practice through movement, relationship, and the body’s intelligence.

Part 1:
Safety & Stability

Establishing safety through embodiment and regulation
Cultivate a foundation of embodiment, self-awareness, and self-care as the basis for trauma work.

Learn body- and movement-based stabilization practices to support safety, regulation, and early-stage therapeutic engagement.

Part 2: Processing & Narrative

Supporting trauma processing through relationship and embodied narrative
Deepen into dyadic work through reciprocal alliance, clinical intuition, and embodied attunement.

Develop skills to support the processing of traumatic experience and the integration of personal and relational narratives.

Part 3: Collective Integration

Expanding into connection, expression, and collective healing
Expand into group and community contexts, from families to larger systems of care.

Through a dynamic integration of movement, rhythm, voice, and creative arts, learn to support connection, expression, and collective healing.
